Low volt hoses are typically used with straight air accessories like hard floor brushes or dusting tools. Low voltage hoses are often combined with air turbine tools which use the airflow of the vacuum to spin an agitator for cleaning carpeted surfaces. Air turbine tools do face a performance challenge which used on new dense soft carpets as this can restrict airflow and reduce the tools effectiveness. On soft carpets we would recommend one consider an electric power nozzle.
